For years I have dreamed of starting a blog. I discovered a small taste of the blogging world in college. Then, in 2010, while working for my dad, I fell deep into blogs with the stories told by diverse women. During my free time I was reading other peoples stories, browsing through their beautiful images, and dreaming of what it would be like to create my own virtual space.
I have always made excuses. I'll start a blog when I get married. I'll start a blog when I'm a newlywed. I'll start a blog when I'm pregnant. I'll start a blog while Sawyer is a baby. I'll start a blog when I learn to shoot my camera on manual. I will start a blog once I learn Lightroom. My list of excuses goes on and on, and in reality, there is probably never a good time to start much of anything. I will always be making excuses and limiting myself of what I am capable of doing.
However, life is moving at lightning speed. I will be 30 this year. 30. How did I get here so fast? Didn't I just become old enough to drink? When did my parents stop being my roommates? I do feel like I have been in my twenties forever. I covered a lot of ground in the last 9 years. My twenties started while I was in the middle of college. I went from being a blonde to a brunette and never looked back. I graduated from college. Met the boy of my dreams. Got engaged, Got married. Moved out of state. Had a baby. Had another baby. And another baby. Traveled. Those are just some of the highlights.
I am taking the plunge. There is no time like the present. The present looks like a sleeping baby across my chest, and my attempt to get my scrambled thoughts to make some sort of sense. Regardless, the present is now. I don't want to wait until the kids are older. There are things about the current phase I am in that I want to remember. I feel like there are already some memories of the last 4 years of motherhood that are fading. Feelings I should have written down.
I want to create a space that tells stories. Stories of motherhood, hardship, the ups and downs. Not just the pretty photos and birthday parties (because I will be posting plenty of that too.) Also, interior design, adult and kid's fashion, style, places we go with and without kids and much much more. Everything that encompasses our lives as we know it. I'm excited to finally get started. Feel free to enjoy the ride.
